Home

Home is the page you land on after signing in. It gathers what needs you today, your own records, and — for managers and administrators — your team and your organization.

What Is Home?

Home is the page you land on after signing in. It answers two questions: what needs you today, and what is happening around you.

It is not a replacement for the Dashboard, which remains the multi-user calendar grid for planning coverage. Home is a set of cards that each summarise one thing and link to the page where you act on it.

What appears depends on three things:

  • Your role — an employee, a department head, an administrator and an executive see different cards.
  • Whether anyone reports to you — the team cards follow the org chart, not your role, so an employee who has people reporting to them gets them.
  • Which modules are switched on — with Time Tracking & Projects off, the hours card does not appear and cannot be added from the tray, and the approvals card leaves out time requests entirely rather than counting a queue you cannot open.

The cards

What needs you

Action Required lists anything blocked on you: documents waiting on your signature, assessments you owe someone, onboarding tasks and training past their date, and expired certifications. Each row opens the page that shows exactly what the row counts. When there is nothing outstanding, the card says so rather than disappearing.

Onboarding and offboarding tasks are listed once per person they belong to. A task assigned to you is usually part of somebody else's onboarding, so its row names that person and opens the Onboarding or Offboarding tab on their profile, where the task lives.

This card cannot be switched off — it is the one that tells you somebody else is waiting.

Waiting on You appears if leave, expense or time requests are routed to you for a decision. The three counts match what you see when you open each queue.

Your own records

Time Off shows your Annual and Sick leave balances and the next time off you have booked. The figures are the same ones the Leave Balance panel on your calendar shows: your own allowance plus anything carried over, less what you have booked. Which balances appear follows your organization's balance-display setting in General settings. A balance below zero means more has been taken than the allowance covers, and is shown as such rather than rounded up to nothing.

Today's Hours shows hours logged today and whether you are clocked in. Clocking in itself happens on the Time Tracking page, where the location and geofence rules are applied.

Next 1:1 shows who you next speak to and when.

My Expenses shows your own claims by where they have got to — drafts, awaiting approval, approved but not yet paid, and any sent back to you — with the total the organization still owes you. Under each status it names the most recent reports, each opening the report itself. It appears only when the expenses module is enabled.

My Documents shows what is waiting on your signature, what is expiring, and what is waiting on somebody ahead of you in a signing order, naming the documents in each. A document waiting on your signature opens straight into signing. The total in the card's header is the number of documents in your own folder, the same count All documents opens.

My Stuff gives a line each for goals, training, certifications, benefits and assigned equipment, each linking to the matching tab on your profile.

Everyone else

Who's Out shows who is away today, plus any public holiday on your own calendar — which may differ from the head office's if you have a personal holiday country set. Below that, Coming up lists the next days over the following fortnight when somebody's time off begins, with who it is and the type of leave, so a quiet today does not hide a busy next week. Private leave types read as "Private" to anyone not entitled to the detail, as they do on the calendar.

Probation Reviews lists probation reviews falling in the next two weeks. It follows the same rule as the rest of the product: you see your own, and managers see the people they are responsible for — your colleagues do not see yours.

Celebrations lists birthdays and work anniversaries over the next two weeks.

What's Happening shows recent updates about your requests and documents.

Your team

My Team lists the people who report to you, and for each: whether they are away today, if they are currently clocked in, and when you next speak to them.

Onboarding shows onboarding and offboarding runs still in progress, with any overdue tasks flagged. This card follows the same rule as the rest of onboarding: administrators and executives see their whole team's, and a department head sees their own department's.

Your organization

Administrators and executives also get:

  • Headcount — active people, who joined or left in the last 30 days, who is starting or leaving soon, and the department mix.
  • Review Cycles — how far along each running cycle is.
  • Needs Attention — overdue and declined signatures, overdue onboarding tasks and training, and expiring certifications.

Privacy

Home applies the same privacy rules as the rest of the product.

  • Private leave types show as "Private" to anyone not entitled to the detail, exactly as on the calendar.
  • Other departments — when that setting is set to Hidden in General settings, Who's Out and Celebrations are limited to your own department. Administrators and executives are not affected, as the setting states.
Switching a card off only changes what you see. It does not grant access to anything, and nothing on Home shows you data you could not already reach elsewhere in the product.

Administrators and executives also see a setup checklist above the board on a new organization, covering the settings worth reviewing before inviting people. It is dismissible and disappears once the work is done.

Choosing which cards you see

Select Customise at the top of the page to start arranging it. The board stays where it is and gains three controls:

  • a × on the corner of every card, which removes it;
  • a grip on the opposite corner — drag a card to move it, and the rest close up around it;
  • an Add cards tray along the bottom, listing the cards you have switched off.

Cards can also be moved from the keyboard: give a card focus with Tab, then use the left and right arrow keys to move it earlier or later on the board.

Nothing is saved until you select Save; Cancel puts the board back as it was. Your choice is stored on your account rather than in the browser, so it follows you to another device.

If a new card is added to the product later, it appears next to the cards it belongs with rather than at the bottom of a board you have already arranged.

The tray holds two things: cards you have removed, and a library of optional cards that start switched off. They start off so Home does not open with every card at once.

For everyone:

  • Leave Balance — allowance, carry-over, used and remaining for each bucket, with a bar for each, the same figures the calendar sidebar shows.
  • Deductible Leave — what your allowance has gone on, by leave type.
  • Non-deductible Leave — leave taken that does not come off an allowance.
  • Company Holidays — the next public holidays on your own calendar.

For administrators and executives:

  • Workforce Mix — headcount by division, location or employment type.
  • Length of Service — how long people have been with the organization.
  • Profile Completeness — records missing a start date, department, job title, date of birth or mobile number.

The three leave cards follow the organization's Calendar Balance Display setting, so a bucket hidden on the calendar stays hidden on Home.

Organization Time appears only when your own timezone differs from the organization's. It shows both clocks and how far apart they are right now. Your greeting and the date beside it are always in your timezone, so the two can never disagree.

The tray only ever offers cards available to you. If it is empty, everything you can see is already on the page. If you switch every card off, Home says so and offers the controls again rather than leaving you on an empty page.

Tour

A short guided tour runs the first time you open Home and explains the reading order of the cards. You can replay it any time from Settings → Guided Tours.
